What is the difference between mushrooms and shiitake mushrooms?

There are significant differences between shiitake mushrooms and regular mushrooms in terms of cultivation methods, appearance, taste, and nutritional components.

Shiitake mushrooms and common mushrooms have significant differences in cultivation methods, appearance, texture, and nutritional components. Shiitake mushrooms need to be cultivated on special substrates such as wood or sawdust, while common mushrooms can grow in a wider range of soil environments, making their cultivation methods more flexible. In terms of appearance, shiitake mushrooms are usually dark brown, have a unique aroma, and a firm texture, while common mushrooms are mostly white or light brown, with a soft texture, making them suitable for soups or stir-fries.

In addition, shiitake mushrooms and common mushrooms also differ in classification. 'Mushroom' is a broad term that includes various large fungi, such as oyster mushrooms and porcini, while shiitake is a type of mushroom that has a special aroma.
